Fordyce spots

Fordyce spots are ectopic sebaceous glands found on the mucosal surface of the lips, as well as genital skin of the scrotum, shaft of the penis and labia. Unlike usual sebaceous glands, they are not associated with hair follicles. Fordyce spots have no clinical significance and are of cosmetic concern only.
